Pillows have always been a weakness of mine, going back to my teenage years, when my boyfriend (now my husband of 29 years)
would take me to Carmel-by-the-Sea and I would visit my favorite French country shop “Pierre Deux”, where their selection of custom designed pillows were something that “I DREAMED ABOUT AND LOVED DEARLY!” I guess you could say I was a little bit addicted! I would save my money for many months, looking so forward to purchasing that one perfect “Very French” Pillow for my bedroom collection. I treasured those pillows for many years, and I still have a few, that I have kept in perfect condition, that I truly enjoy to this day!
If you are looking for “Design Inspiration” for your space or if you are not sure what your style is, then pillows can truly help you in that process. They can give you that jumping off point, for your space in terms of what your color theme will be, and overall they can set the tone for a space and add so much life and character for so little money!
The photos I have included in this post are all Pillows from my personal collection, and as you can see I have a wide variety of styles and colors. I virtually have no boundaries when it comes to my “Pillow Collection” because I really see them as pieces of “Artwork” and many of them are almost conversation pieces! I truly consider them to be very inspirational and most of them are very comfortable too!
When you are selecting pillows, I personally feel they should definitely make a statement in your space. Think of them as paintings, and as such you might reconsider how you display some of them in your spaces. Take note of my photo, which shows a small precious pillow, resting on my “Vanity” decorated with some of my vintage brooches (a clever way to display your jewelry).
Pillows can be one of the most important ways you accessorize your space, so never underestimate the power of the pillow!
